Man (40s) arrested as gardaí seize €300k worth of heroin disguised as luxury French brand

Dublin gardaí have uncovered €300k worth of heroin disguised as a luxury French brand.
One man was arrested and remains detained on Friday for questioning in relation to the investigation.
Gardaí attached to the Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT) seized the 2kg of suspected heroin and smaller quantities of cannabis and cocaine during the search operation in Saggart yesterday evening.
Gardaí posted images of the concealed drugs online, which were well hidden in brown ‘Hermes’ packaging.
The total value of the drugs seized is €300,000.
All drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).
“One man, aged in his 40s, was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Garda station in Dublin,” gardai said.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
