Man arrested after brandishing knife in South Dublin hospital
A man has been arrested after he allegedly walked into a South Dublin hospital brandishing a knife.
The incident happened at St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin 4 at around 10am this morning. A witness told Dublin Live the man walked into the hospital brandishing the weapon.
The man was quickly circled by security staff from the hospital in a bid to keep him away from other patients. Armed gardai raced to the scene and managed to subdue the man.
A garda spokesman confirmed to Dublin Live a man has been detained under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act, 2001.
