Man dies in workplace accident at Tipperary water treatment site
Two separate investigations are underway after a man died in a workplace accident in Co Tipperary.
The man, who was in his 50s, died after an incident at a water treatment site in Roscrea on Wednesday. The tragedy happened at around 12.30pm.
Gardaí are investigating, as is the The Health and Safety Authority. Uisce Éireann extended the company’s condolences to the man’s loved ones.
The company said: “It is with deep regret and sadness that Uisce Éireann confirms that a man working on behalf of our contractor has died following an incident yesterday, Wednesday, May 29. The incident occurred on site at Roscrea Wastewater Treatment Plant, Roscrea, County Tipperary.

“Our thoughts are with the family, work colleagues and friends of the deceased at this very difficult time. Uisce Éireann are liaising with the Health and Safety Authority and relevant authorities in relation to this incident.”
