Garda presence at a wedding venue in Limerick

GARDAÍ intervened during incidents at two separate wedding parties in Limerick last week.

During one incident, a man allegedly suffered bite injuries to his ear.

Two men were arrested after a third man, a guest at a wedding celebration, suffered “serious injuries.”

A garda spokesperson confirmed a man in his 20s was hurt and was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.

“Gardaí are investigating an assault that occurred at a property in Adare, Co. Limerick on the 22nd June 2024 at approximately 9pm.”

“Two men, one in his 20s and the other in his 50s, were arrested at the scene and taken to a local Garda Station.”

Gardai called to incidents at two different wedding parties in Limerick

Both men have since been released pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The previous night officers were called to an hotel in Limerick city in response to an alleged disturbance during a separate wedding celebration.

Videos of gardai from an armed support unit outside the venue were widely shared on social media.

Several garda vehicles are seen already at the venue as officers holding guns get ready at the back of vehicle.

Other plain clothes gardaí are also seen walking into the venue and another clip taken later show people in suits and dresses walking away from the area.

A garda spokesperson said officers responded to reports of a “disturbance” at a premises in Limerick.

“All persons left the premises when requested,” it was added.
