Man threatened with knife during attempted theft in Limerick

GARDAI in Limerick are investigating after a man was threatened with a knife during an attempted theft.

Four thieves tried to steal a red Suzuki motorcycle from the driveway at a house at Derryvinna, Clonlara on Friday, May 24 at 2:30pm.

They wheeled the motorcycle down the road and attempted to start it on several occasions. The owner of the bike realised what was going on and tried to confront the thieves.

One of the thieves subsequently threatened him with a knife. All four thieves jumped into a white Opel car and left the area.

It is not known which direction they travelled in and there is no description of the thieves as they had their faces covered.

The motorcycle was recovered successfully.

Gardai at Mayorstone garda station are investigating and can be reached at 061 456980.
