Manchester Airport drama as police board easyJet flight after it lands

Police boarded a plane shortly after it landed at Manchester Airport and escorted a ‘disruptive passenger’ off. The drama unfolded shortly after the easyJet flight from Belfast International touched down at Terminal 1, at around 11:30pm last night (Sunday).

Footage seen by the Manchester Evening News shows a man collecting his luggage before walking off the aircraft with officers. The airline has confirmed the flight was met by police due to a passenger ‘behaving disruptively.’

An eyewitness on the flight said the man was warned after interrupting the safety briefing before take-off that police could be called and he could be taken off.

The fellow passenger claimed the man was told then told he wouldn’t be served any booze and was warned several times during the short flight because he was ‘shouting and swearing.’

“He made it unbearable,” the eyewitness said. “He and some girls he was talking to just kept talking really loudly, swearing. They literally didn’t shut up all flight. It was a bit of a nightmare. I was a bit surprised when the police got on but I thought it was fair enough really.”

A spokesman for the airline said: “easyJet can confirm that flight EZY708 from Belfast to Manchester yesterday was met by police on arrival due to a passenger behaving disruptively onboard.

“easyJet’s cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.
