Manhunt continues for ‘volatile and dangerous’ fugitive who fled to Ireland

GARDAI are continuing to hunt a violent fugitive who tried to seek asylum at the Russian Embassy.

Investigators believe Nassar Mohammed Hussein, 34, spent time at the embassy on February 27 after arriving in Dublin.

They suspect he used the fake name Hamza Abdul when booking a flight from London to Belfast on February 22.

Once in Dublin, he’s understood to have made the application to travel to Russia but was denied.

Since then, he has been spotted in Dublin city centre as Gardai continue to hunt for him.

He’s wanted in the UK after he removed his electronic tag after he served a sentence for possession of an offensive weapon and assaulting an emergency worker.

Hussein has been classified by police in the UK as “dangerous”.

A UK source told us: “This man is very dangerous and the suspicion is that he is still in Ireland.

“Detectives also believe that he went to the Russian embassy to get asylum because Russia has no treaty with the UK.

“He is a very volatile and dangerous individual and hopefully he is apprehended sooner rather than later.

“He will be brought back to the UK for breaching the conditions of his release.”

During his time in England, Hussein tried to force his way into the UK parliament in October 2022 armed with a knife.

When he approached the Palace of Westminster armed with a knife, he said: “Jihadi it is then” when he was refused entry.

He later received a 16-month prison sentence.

The Met Police said: “Hussein was released from prison on licence but on 22 February he removed his electronic tag and left his address at Camberwell.”
