Lommel-born Bergs became a professional tennis player in 2018 and has since enjoyed several major tournament successes.
The plays he is known for are right-handed and two-handed backhand.
When Zizou was born in 1999, his parents decided to make his official name the alias of a legendary football player.
His father Koen Bergs had been nicknamed “Zizou” by his football teammates when he was younger, after the famous French World Cup winner Zinedine Zidane.
Bergs is now living up to his namesake by becoming a sporting sensation in his own right.
Off the court, Bergs has almost 76K followers on TikTok, where his girlfriend and dog occasionally feature in his videos.
His girlfriend Jirth Maesen is a freelance social media marketer.

The young player used to practice tennis against garage walls growing up, as of May 2024, he is the No.1 singles player in Belgium.
Bergs won three Challenger titles in 2021 alone and made his Grand Slam debut at Wimbledon in 2022.
This was followed in 2023 by his first Australian Open appearance and in 2024 when he debuted at the Italian Open.
Despite losing in Rome to 10-time champion Rafael Nadal, the Belgian national bounced back for the French Open qualifiers.

Zizou Bergs qualified for the tournament after defeating Mathias Bourgue on the Frenchman’s home soil.
He then played against Alejandro Tabilo, from Chile, in the first round on May 26, 2024, and won, advancing to the second round.
