Men’s Basketball Signs Center Armani Mighty – Central Michigan University Athletics

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Boston College transfer and Toronto, Ontario native Armani Mighty has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Central Michigan Men’s Basketball program, Head Coach Tony Barbee announced on Thursday.
 
With the addition of Mighty, Central Michigan now has eight incoming players as part of its 2024 recruiting class. That group includes Damarion Bonds, Mohammad Habhab, Jakobi Heady, Quentin Heady, Ugnius Jarusevicius, Bryan Ndjonga, Kyler VanderJagt.
 
Central Michigan returnees include 2024 First Team All-MAC and All-MAC Defensive Team member/point guard Anthony Pritchard, sophomore guard Cayden Vasko, sophomore center Hunter Harding, redshirt freshman guard Shaedon Simpson, and sophomore guard Drew Barbee.
 
The 6-foot-10-inch, 240-pound Mighty appeared in 51 games at Boston College over the last two seasons. He is a graduate of United Scholastic Academy.
 
“We are excited to welcome Armani to Central Michigan,” Barbee said. “We can’t wait until we can see our entire team on campus.”

Transfers to Central Michigan from Boston College, where he appeared in 51 career games and averaged 0.8 points and 1.2 rebounds in 5.1 minutes per game.
 
2023-24 AT BOSTON COLLEGE
 
Played in 35 games, averaged 5.6 minutes per game, 0.8 points and 1.2 rebounds per game … converted 9-22 field goals (40.9 percent), grabbed 19 offensive rebounds and blocked nine shots … tallied season-highs of six points at Virginia Tech (Jan. 23), five rebounds at The Citadel (Nov. 10), and 15 minutes vs. Central Connecticut State (Dec. 5).
 
2022-23 AT BOSTON COLLEGE
 
Saw action in 16 games as a freshman at Boston College … averaged 0.7 points and 0.9 rebounds per game … tallied season-highs in scoring (5) and rebounding (5) versus Tarleton State … also grabbed five boards to go along with two points in a win over Wyoming … registered a field goal against Villanova … blocked three shots on the season.

A June 2022 graduate of United Scholastic Academy … was a 2021-22 First Team All-Ontario Scholastic Basketball selection … played in the 2022 BioSteel All-Canadian Game, the Canadian equivalent to the McDonald’s All-American game … ranked 116th on On3.com’s 2022 recruiting rankings … played prep basketball in Canada at United Scholastic Institute and shined with the Canada Elite AAU program on the Under Armour circuit … shined at the Big Shots Prep National Tournament, earning second team all-tournament honor.
