MM 7.1: Maryland women’s basketball wins second game of Croatia tour
In its second and final match in Croatia on Sunday, Maryland women’s basketball secured a decisive 92-53 victory over All Star Split.
The Terps quickly established control, going on a 16-2 run in the first quarter, ending the frame with a 24-13 lead. They maintained this momentum, heading into halftime with a 45-31 advantage.
Maryland continued to dominate in the second half, starting with an 18-5 run that effectively sealed the game. Its defense was formidable, forcing 29 turnovers, and it controlled the boards, out-rebounding its opponents 53-25.
Several Terps made significant contributions. Incoming freshman Breanna Williams led the team with 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting. Arkansas transfer Saylor Poffenbarger added a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, while star guard Shyanne Sellers chipped in with 15 points.
