Ocean Of Dreams

Galileo Dame is just about the favourite for the Gowran Classic this afternoon.

She had great form going into the Cheshire Oaks but despite being favourite could only manage fourth of six behind Forest Fairy, Port Fairy and Seaward.

But she’s being nudged down in trip again which is likely to suit much more, especially if setting the tempo, which she didn’t do at Chester and had to settle for coming home just too late.

The key takeaway from that run was that she looked like she still had more to give but didn’t quicken as expected from off the pace.

Her form well ahead of Rubies Are Red at Leopardstown is still very encouraging and she’s not to be ruled out, as Chester is a tough track to win at.

Ocean Of Dreams helps keep this quite open in the market though, the Magnier, Tabor and Smith owned horse trained by Aidain O’Brien.

The colt was a runaway winner on debut but was reported to be lame after finishing stone cold last at Leopardstown on reappearance.

He carries among the top-weight and the filly Galileo Dame receives 9lb from the colt which gives her a big chance.

But the way Ocean Of Dreams won on debut suggests he’s got plenty more to offer and at a huge price too.

Second place in that maiden race was Invention who has since achieved a rating of 86, and on debut even bumped into the Derby Trials runner Illinois.

Who of course was the favourite to win the Ballysax Stakes, in which Ocean Of Dreams was the 7/2 runner, and revealed to be lame after, big chance now on return.

Bold Impact & Invincible Song

Bold Impact has a lot of promise and that’s clear by the price he fetched as a yearling; 350,000 euros.

Went to Newmarket in May for his debut over this distance and didn’t start strongly but stayed on to come third behind Ancient Truth and Principality.

After Ancient Truth won he was installed as a 16/1 shot for the Coventry at Royal Ascot and that is only more encouraging for Bold Impact here.

Especially if he’s going to improve as is expected and run more efficiently throughout, rather than taking a little bit of time to get into it.

But on that basis it’s also probably worth backing Invincible Song each-way who is a huge price having gone not too far away from Mountain Breeze at Newmarket.

Mountain Breeze had won already, beating River Seine, and is set to go for the Albany.

This filly proved she has the ability to be up there, but wandered about on debut against some experienced and promising horses, so shouldn’t be discounted at a big price on her second run.
