More than 1200 signatures are on a petition at present to have the mural of US President Joe Biden removed from Market Square in Ballina.
President Biden made an historic visit to Ballina last year and received a huge welcome, however, since the break out of war in Gaza last Autumn, backed by the US President, the tide of support for Mr Biden has waned locally, nationally and internationally, according to Ballina business man Paul Ginty.
Paul is now to the fore in calling for the mural of Joe Biden, erected a number of years ago in Ballina town centre to be removed.
