Mourinho lands two jobs in two days with Champions League gig and dugout return

Jose Mourinho has been busy.

First, it was announced by broadcaster TNT Sports that he will join the punditry panel for the Champions League final, which is live on talkSPORT, then it emerged he is back in management.

The 61-year-old has been out of a job since being sacked by Roma in January, but is finally returning to football – on two fronts.

TNT Sports has announced the Special One will join a star-studded team, which includes ex-talkSPORT presenter Laura Woods.

The Champions League is a trophy that has become synonymous with Mourinho, who first won the title with Porto in 2004.

And six years later he won a second European Cup, this time with Inter Milan, where he guided them to a historic treble campaign.

Mourinho is the only manager in history to win all three current recognised UEFA tournaments.

In addition to his two Champions League crowns, he also won the UEFA Cup with Porto in 2003, before triumphing in the reformed Europa League while at Manchester United in 2017.

And in 2022, he won the inaugural Europa Conference League with Roma.

No other manager in the history of football has won a major European title with four different teams.

And now he will try and make more unique history by conquering Turkish football with him expected to take the reins at Fenerbahce.

The two-year deal will also include an option for further season and will be his eleventh in football management, stretching back to his first steps at Benfica in 2000 before his career took off at Porto in 2002.

talkSPORT reported in May that Mourinho had held talks with Saudi side Al Qadsiah, but it seems Fenerbahce won his heart.

The club finished second to champions Galatasaray and will enter the Champions League qualifying rounds.

There will also be familiar faces in the form of midfielder Fred, who played under Mourinho at Man United. Former Man City striker Edin Dzeko is in the squad as is Ryan Kent, the former Liverpool youth player who starred for Rangers under Steven Gerrard.
