National Treasure and Señor Buscador remain the only U.S.-based horses in the top 10 of the world’s best racehorse rankings as new names join the leaderboard. Both are tied for sixth place.

National Treasure, the 4-year-old Quality Road colt trained by Bob Baffert is ranked after his wins this year in the Grade 1 Pegasus World Cup Invitational and the Met Mile (G1) last out. In between, he was fourth in the Saudi Cup (G1).

Señor Buscador won the Saudi Cup and was second in the Pegasus World Cup. His latest start was a third-place finish in the Dubai World Cup (G1).

Dubai World Cup winner Laurel River retains the no. 1 spot in the latest rankings, with City of Troy and Rebel’s Romance remaining tied for second.

Trainer Aidan O’Brien said the Breeders’ Cup Classic is a possibility for City of Troy, a Justify colt who won the Epsom Derby (G1) and the Eclipse (G1) in his last two starts.

Newcomers to the list include Auguste Rodin, winner of the Prince of Wales’s (G1), and Rosallion, winner of the St. James’s Palace (G1) and the Irish 2,000 Guineas in his last two starts. Both are tied for fourth place.

The world’s best racehorse rankings are compiled by the world’s best racehorse rankings committee and published by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities.
