NBA Draft 2024 Rumors: Tristan Da Sliva Eyed by Lakers, 76ers, Heat and More Teams
Colorado forward Tristan Da Silva is reportedly generating interest from a handful of teams ahead of the 2024 NBA draft.
Jeremy Woo of ESPN reported the Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings, Miami Heat, Philadelphia Sixers and Los Angeles Lakers have all expressed interest in Da Silva. Woo’s mock draft has him being taken No. 17 overall by the Lakers, but the high end of Da Silva’s range is reportedly No. 9 to Memphis.
Da Silva was a three-year starter at Colorado and projects as a solid 3-and-D wing at the next level. He averaged 16.0 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game last season while shooting 39.5 percent from the floor.
While he doesn’t project as a superstar at the next level, the 2024 draft is not considered rife with high-level talent. Landing a player who can fit a role as a seventh or eighth man will be a win in this class even in the lottery, let alone in the late-teens where Da Silva is currently being projected.
B/R’s Jonathan Wasserman has compared Da Silva to Trey Lyles, noting his mediocre athleticism could be the biggest factor turning teams off. However, he does have instantly translatable skills on the offensive end that could put him on the floor early in his NBA career.
Evaluations are expected to vary greatly from team-to-team in this class, so don’t be surprised if mock drafts wind up having a lower hit rate than usual. All it takes is one team to fall in love, and Da Silva could find himself in the lottery.
