NBA2K25 Summer League Schedule
The NBA 2K25 season will be the highlight of Summer League. All 30 teams participate in the event and will play at least four games. The top four teams in the standings will move on to the playoffs that will determine the Vegas Summer League champion.
James’ first game as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers will be the tipoff game in California Summer League against the Sacramento Kings on July 6. He will likely be joined on the team by first-round pick Dalton Knecht.
The duo will also lead the Lakers when the Vegas Summer League schedule begins on July 12. They will take on the Houston Rockets and No. 3 overall pick Reed Sheppard.
Immediately following the Lakers-Rockets game, the top two picks in the 2024 NBA draft will square off when Risacher and the Atlanta Hawks take on Alex Sarr and the Washington Wizards.
Reigning National Player of the Year Zach Edey’s professional debut with the Memphis Grizzlies could come against the Utah Jazz on July 8.
Edey’s status for Summer League could depend on if he is named to Canada’s national team for the Olympics. He was on the 2023 squad that won bronze at the FIBA World Cup and was named to the training camp roster for the Paris Games.
Canada and Team USA will play a showcase game in Las Vegas on July 10.
The Jazz had one of the best drafts by getting Cody Williams (No. 10 overall pick), Isaiah Collier (No. 29) and Filipowski (No. 31) with their three picks. The game against the Grizzlies could feature the deepest collection of star talent from the 2024 draft if Edey is playing.
Filipowski was thought to be a first-round pick, including accepting an invitation from the NBA to be in the green room on Wednesday. He wound up having to wait until the second day to hear his name called.
Even though it wasn’t an ideal scenario in the moment for Filipowski, it may end up working out well. The Jazz are a team in transition and he earned high marks for his shooting range, passing and defensive mobility leading up to the draft.
As the San Antonio Spurs look to find a nucleus they can put around Victor Wembanyama, No. 4 overall pick Stephon Castle will get an opportunity to make an early impression against the Charlotte Hornets.
The Hornets, who hit a home run in last year’s draft with No. 2 overall pick Brandon Miller, will hope lightning strikes twice with Tidjane Salaün. They used the sixth pick on the 18-year-old French forward after he was awarded Best Young Player in the FIBA Champions League with Cholet Basket last season.
Ron Holland (No. 5 overall) could make his debut for the Detroit Pistons against the Philadelphia 76ers with Jared McCain on July 13. That same day will pit Castle and his former Connecticut teammate Donovan Clingan against each other when the Spurs and Portland Trail Blazers square off.
The Vegas Summer League season will conclude with the championship game on July 22 at 9 p.m. ET from the Thomas & Mack Center.
