New ‘Escape From Tarkov Patch’ Coming Tomorrow, Servers Going Down

Battlestate Games has announced that a big new patch is coming to Escape From Tarkov tomorrow, but it means there will be a lot of server down time as it is deployed.

At 8:00 am BST/3:00 am EDT tomorrow, July 4, patch 0.14.9.5 for Escape From Tarkov will be deployed. The Escape From Tarkov servers will be offline for at least six hours while the patch is added to the game, and during this time the game will not be playable. The game should come back online around 2:00 pm BST/9am EDT.

When the game comes back online there will be a lot of big improvements to Tarkov, for both the PvP and PvE game modes. While we do not have a full list of patch notes just yet, with these expected to arrive as the servers go down tomorrow, we do know some of the additions that are set for this patch.

First off the big change will be that you will be able to play the PvE game mode locally on your PC without the need to find an available server. This should fix the issues PvE players have had with matchmaking times despite being a single player experience. It should also mean that players with slower internet connections can finally play Tarkov, with many players complaining over the years about how difficult it can be without a stable connection. However, the team has warned that it may take a few days or weeks for this new option to become stable.

The patch is also expected to include the heavily requested in game voting feature that will allow the developers to ask active players what they want to see changed, and a brand new in game quest line that will likely be tied to another event like others we have seen recently. We are also expecting improvements to AI in the PvE modes and a lot of quality of life improvements which have been teased in recent days.

Patch 0.14.9.5 was initially scheduled to launch at the end of last month, but at TwitchCon this past weekend it was announced the patch had been pushed back to early July. Given Battlestate’s history, many expected this to mean it was weeks away, but just a few days later we are already getting access to it. However, this is likely to be one of the last major updates to Escape From Tarkov before the next wipe arrives sometime in August.
