New Jersey Online Casinos Surge, See 21% Increase and Second-Best Month Ever
Last Updated:
While the retail casino industry in the Atlantic City has had its ups and downs, the online sphere is surging as May 2024 was the second-highest-grossing month ever for the online platforms in The Garden State.
According to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, online casinos generated more than $192 million in May 2024. This fell just short of March’s record-breaking month of $197.2 million but was up 19% year-over-year.
Now, through five months of 2024, New Jersey online casinos have generated just about $942.8 million in revenue year-to-date, which is 20.6% higher than where they were last year at this point.
That’s important because in 2023, New Jersey online casinos generated $1.9 billion, which was the highest-grossing year of all time in the state’s history, and online casinos have been around since 2013.

However, FanDuel’s $40 million wasn’t the top individual performance. That belongs to DraftKings online casino, which falls under the Resorts Digital Gaming license. It generated $42.2 million.
