New star of The Night Manager’s second series revealed after actress is replaced
THE sizzling new star of The Night Manager sequel is Victoria’s Secret model Camila Morrone — a former girlfriend of Leonardo DiCaprio.
The 26-year-old replaces Elizabeth Debicki, 33, who shared steamy romps with Tom Hiddleston in the first series of the BBC1 hit.
Tom, 43, returns to the drama as Jonathan Pine, who works in a hotel after leaving the military.
But for Camila, her casting is something of a turnabout.
Hollywood womaniser Leonardo, 49, is famed for moving on to younger girlfriends — and now she is the younger model, replacing Elizabeth as the leading lady.
A TV insider said: “While many of the big names involved in the first series will be returning for the second, Camila is a sensational new addition.
“Tom is now eight years older than he was when he first played the leading man in The Night Manager but Camila is the same age that Elizabeth was when she first appeared on the show in 2016.
“She is 17 years younger than the show’s star.
“Of course, bosses could have opted for an actress who was now in their 30s or 40s but — much like DiCaprio — they seem to prefer a younger model.”
The star of Titanic and The Wolf of Wall Street dated Camilla from 2017, just as her catwalk career was booming, until 2022.
The 23-year age gap was the biggest Leonardo had in his long list of relationships.
Camilla went on to star in 1970s-set Amazon drama Daisy Jones & The Six — and decided to switch full-time to acting.
Her role on The Night Manager, which has yet to be confirmed, could prove to be her big break.
In the first series Australian actress Elizabeth played the lover of the show’s arms dealer villain Richard Roper played by Hugh Laurie, 64.
He is executive producer on the new series, expected to air next year — and many fans reckon his character will make a comeback cameo despite last being seen dragged off, apparently to his death.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth, who was nominated for a Bafta for playing Princess Diana in two seasons of Netflix hit The Crown, is in high demand on TV shows and movies around the world.
