This trip sparked controversy online with users voicing concerns about the funding of Trump’s projects in Oman.

Newsweek has reached out to a representative of the Trump Organization for comment.

The project, encompassing a vast area of 3.5 million square meters, is one of the largest premium mixed-use real estate developments globally.

This $500 million investment represents a development in Oman’s real estate sector.

What We Know

Set to open in December 2028, Trump International Oman will feature a 140-key hotel complex with various accommodations, including hanging suites, furnished villas, and serviced apartments, according to Construction Week Online.

Amenities will include private beach access, an 18-hole championship golf course, a members-only club, and the Cliff Hanging Night Club.

The resort is developed in collaboration with the Trump Organization and Omran Group, Oman’s tourism development arm, and is strategically located on a hilltop over 100 meters high, offering views of the surrounding canyons and beaches, according to the Oman Observer.

Ziad El Chaar, CEO of Dar Global said of the project “With all respect to other projects in Oman, this stands out in terms of integration and completeness,” according to the Oman Observer. “The Trump International Golf Course, one of the largest in the region, alongside an expansive members-only club, sets a new standard,” he said.

Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization, added: “This venture underscores our shared commitment to curating iconic luxury experiences for discerning travellers and investors, while also elevating Oman’s status as a premier global destination,” according to the Oman Observer.

What’s Next

The first phase of the project, which includes primarily residential units is nearly sold out and scheduled for delivery within 30 months according to the Oman Observer.

The first phase AIDA project is progressing and is expected to be completed in 2027. The resort’s golf course is set to become an attraction, designed to meet the highest standards and enhance the overall golfing experience with its challenging terrain and state-of-the-art facilities, according to Trump Real Estate.

Trump International Oman is the latest addition to Trump’s extensive collection of golf courses worldwide. Notable examples include the Trump National Doral in Miami, Trump Turnberry in Scotland, and Trump International Golf Club in Dubai.

These courses are known for their luxurious settings and premium pricing, often ranging from $150 to $500 per round, depending on the location and season, as per Trump Real Estate.
