New vid shows Mark Zuckerberg’s 0m ‘birthday gift’ superyacht in Majorca

MARK Zuckerberg’s $300 million super yacht has docked at Majorca and stunned fellow boat owners as it looms over a luxury marina.

New clips give a closer look of the Facebook billionaire’s “birthday present” which has its own aircraft hangar and even a support boat.

The mega vessel, dubbed the Launchpad, reportedly docked last week at the Club de Mar in Palma, one of the island’s most prestigious private marinas.

Also moored alongside the marina is the yacht’s support vessel, Wingman, estimated in $30million.

It is the Meta boss’s first visit to the hols hotspot as he tried to sneak his new boats into Palma in secrecy, Majorca Daily Bulletin reports.

A fellow boat owner shared exclusive footage with The Sun showing the 387-foot-long yacht’s navy blue steel hull glistening under the Majorcan sun.

Another clip then shows the stunning boat with its luxury interiors lit up in the evening.

Boat owner Yannick, from Sail Trip Mallorca, is docked just a few boats down from the Launchpad and can’t get over the “unreal” yacht.

He told The Sun: “It arrived on Thursday in silence, and over the last days we saw a lot of crew cleaning the outer hull and general maintenance.

“We see lots of big superyachts but this one is of the level unreal.

“When you walk or drive past Mark’s yacht you have a view at the cruise boats and you wonder which one is bigger.”

Yannick believes that the Facebook boss spends around $80,000 a day on his boat as its expected running cost can be around 10 per cent a year on the purchase price.

This magnificent ship, valued at $300 million, was built by the prestigious Feadship shipyard in the Netherlands and delivered this year.

The Launchpad is longer than 118 metres and has a registered tonnage of more than five thousand tonnes.

It can accommodate 26 guests and a crew of 50 people.

The yacht’s exquisite design, featuring a navy blue steel hull and a white aluminium superstructure, is the creation of Espen Oeino, a renowned firm in the maritime sector.

Luxurious and extensive onboard facilities include a cinema-theatre, beach club area, beauty centre, solarium on teak decks, and a helicopter.

The super ship can reach 24 knots and has innovative features like underwater lights and GPS anchoring.

It also boasts autonomy in maritime navigation.

The Launchpad’s four diesel engines are a major contributor to its amazing speed and are necessary for lengthy trips like transatlantic journeys.

It differs from many modern yachts with this feature, which frequently prioritises different features.

Zuck had been eyeing up the ultra-lux vessel for a while, as he was seen touring the boat then known as Project 1010 during its construction in March.

Project 1010 made its maiden voyage from the Netherlands after receiving special permission to be imported just weeks ahead of Zuckerberg’s birthday on May 14, raising questions about whether it could be a gift to mark the occasion.

The mega vessel is not far off the size of Amazon mogul Jeff Bezos’ $500 million 417-foot tall mega yacht, Koru, which was spotted in the same state in November 2023.

The Abeona, his mega yacht’s support vessel, a 264-foot garage to hold Bezos’ luxury cars, private helicopter, and jet skis, was docked at a slip four miles away.

To put into perspective the additional costs Zuckerberg is looking at, Bezos reportedly bankrolled a $16,500 per week bill for Koru to stay at the port, part of the $25 million in annual costs the ship will rack up.

But cost is no object to 39-year-old Zuckerberg, as he was the youngest billionaire to make the top 10 wealthiest people in the world list.

In 2021, Zuckerberg was reportedly worth $108 billion, an amount that rose to $138.4 billion by January 2024.

Zuckerberg is hardly known for conserving his money when faced with large purchases.

In December 2021, it was reported that Zuckerberg was breaking ground on an estimated $270 million, 57,000-square-foot Doomsday bunker.

Plans for the structure include filling the football field-sized space with 30 bedrooms, elevators, a swimming pool, sauna, tennis court, and full-sized gym.
