NFL Coach Hypes Micah Parsons: Cowboys Star ‘Completely Wrecks a Game’ in His Role
Dallas Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons is entering his fourth year in the NFL, and he’s already regarded as one of the biggest difference-makers in the league.
While speaking to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler for his annual top 10 positional rankings, a veteran NFL defensive coach praised Parsons for how he excels in his role as an edge rusher who can attack from different spots on the field.
“If you put him at outside linebacker all game, in the same traditional spot, I’m not sure he’d have the same production,” the coach said. “He needs to be moved around, in my opinion. But he’s so good in that role that he completely wrecks a game.”
Parsons landed at No. 3 in this year’s ranking behind Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett and Pittsburgh Steelers star T.J. Watt. The 25-year-old took to social media to call out the reported 167 double teams he faced and declared that 2024 will be an even bigger year for him:
Parsons has been selected to three straight Pro Bowls and earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2023 after receiving first-team honors in his first two years. He is expected to receive a major contract extension soon.
It appears that Parsons is motivated to prove he is not just one of the best edge rushers, but one of the best defensive players in all of football during the upcoming season.
