NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce slammed for not washing their feet
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles centre Jason Kelce, have opened up on their hygiene routines – and it’s safe to say they’ve sparked a bit of a debate
Travis and Jason Kelce have stirred up quite the storm on social media after confessing on their “New Heights” podcast that they don’t usually wash their feet, prompting a soap entrepreneur to warn about the potential dangers of such habits.
The NFL brothers, famous not just for their on-field prowess but also for their candid discussions on their popular podcast, unexpectedly sparked a public hygiene debate. During a recent episode, they shared their personal shower routines, revealing that they often skip washing their feet.
Travis admitted he makes an exception post-practice with the Kansas City Chiefs, especially after tough sessions at Saint Joe training camp due to blisters and other issues.

Travis explained his selective foot-washing policy: “I’m not washing my feet every time, but after like a football practice, like a Saint Joe, yes, I wash my feet. I’ll do it after some training camp practices. I’ve dealt with some blisters and —- to where I’ve gotta wash my feet.”
Meanwhile, Jason was less concerned about the public’s reaction, boldly stating his general disregard for washing his feet unless absolutely necessary. He said: “Who the —- washes your legs or what kind of psychopath washes your feet? You’re not washing, you’re like everybody else. But when you look down, if there’s visible dirt on them, I’ll scrub the dirt off.
“I don’t even touch my feet. Why the —- would I wash my feet? I’m not touching my feet unless I’m clipping my toe nails. That’s the only time I touch my feet,” he said, while adding: “I haven’t washed my hair in, like, months. I can’t even tell you the last time I washed my hair. It’s unnecessary. It’s completely unnecessary.”
Coming back on Twitter /X, the Eagles legend exclaimed: “All of you have been fed diabolical lies that washing every crevice of your bodies and hair, all the time is somehow better or healthier. Any dermatologist not in bed with Big Soap will agree!! Hot spots are all that is necessary and actually leads to cleaner healthier skin.”
These statements align with his earlier comments where he shared: “Everybody knows, just go in there and rinse off. I haven’t used soap on my arms, legs, feet in years, and I’m as healthy as an ox. The only things I soap on a routine basis are the hotspots. Everybody knows what they are: It’s the back end, the front end, and the armpits. That’s it.”
This, however, did not go down well with Sweet Harvest Farms owner Cynthia Jennings, cautioning his behaviour could be “dangerous”. Speaking to TMZ, she said: “I hope JK is just messin’ … ’cause not washing your feet is not just plain nastybut dangerous.”
