Nicola Coughlan to bring Bridgerton to Ireland

Nicola Coughlan and her co-star Luke Newton will be in Ireland next week for appearances in Dublin and her hometown of Galway and as part of the Bridgerton World Tour.

The pair, who play Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton in the hit Netflix period drama, will be on the red carpet at the Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin on 6 June for a special screening of Bridgerton season three, episode five.

They then travel to Galway the following day for The Galway Film Fleadh to host a free screening at Pálás Cinema, where locals will have the chance to celebrate Coughlan’s international success and welcome her back to her hometown.

Season three of Bridgerton, which follows the love lives of the denizens of Regency London, launched in two four-episode parts, with Part 1 airing on 16 May and Part 2 arriving on 13 June.

The new season sees Penelope giving up on her crush on Colin after hearing his harsh words last season.

The official synopsis continues, “Now, she seeks a husband who will let her maintain her double life as Lady Whistledown. However, her lack of confidence leads to failed attempts in the marriage market.

“Colin returns with a new look and swagger, only to find Penelope distant. To win back her friendship, he offers to mentor her in confidence, but soon questions if his feelings are purely platonic.

“Meanwhile, Penelope’s rift with Eloise (Claudia Jessie) and her growing social presence threatens to expose her secret identity.”
