North Dublin Lidl store celebrates selling whopping €6.8 million Lotto jackpot
Staff at a North Dublin Lidl store were popping the champagne corks today as they celebrated selling a whopping Lotto jackpot of almost €6.8 million.
The Lidl on Ballymun Road in Dublin 9 were celebrating after selling the winning ticket on Saturday evening worth an incredible €6,788,177. The National Lottery has confirmed the country’s latest multi-millionaire has made contact and arrangements are being made for them to visit Lotto HQ to collect their prize.
Ballymun Lidl Store Manager, Sun Haojun, was thrilled to have sold the life-changing amount. He said: “There is great excitement in store this morning, we are absolutely thrilled to share this lifechanging moment with the winner and to have sold the winning ticket in Lidl Ballymun.

“On behalf of the entire team at Lidl, we want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the lucky winner. Not only is this incredible news for them, but it’s extremely exciting for the whole Ballymun community.”
Saturday’s lucky player was the fifth jackpot winner of the year and the third in Dublin. One player in Louth and one in Limerick have also picked up whopping prizes in 2024.
Dublin 9 has proved to be a particularly happy hunting ground for Lotto players in recent times. Just two weeks ago, another player in the area scooped €1 million in the Daily Million draw at 9pm on Sunday, June 16 after buying their winning ticket at Nan’s Centra on the Shangan Road.
Meanwhile, tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot is set to roll towards an estimated €25 million. Players dreaming of being the next big National Lottery winner are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm cut-off time for sales this evening.
