Oprah Winfrey misses scheduled morning show due to THIS reason
Oprah Winfrey, 70, was hospitalised, forcing her to cancel a scheduled appearance on CBS Mornings.
She was set to promote David Wroblewski’s book, Familiaris, the latest selection for Oprah’s Book Club. However, her close friend and show anchor, Gayle King, announced Oprah’s absence from the program.
“She had some kind of stomach thing – stomach flu – stuff was coming out of both ends,’ Gayle candidly revealed. “won’t get too graphic. Needless to say, she ended up in the hospital, dehydration had to get an IV, it was a very serious thing.”
Gayle hoped her pal wouldn’t object if she shared specifics about her sickness and assured her, “She will be okay.”
David continued to appear on the programme to promote his book even though the Color Purple star was not there. Despite the health scare, Winfrey continued to promote it on her social media accounts.
Winfrey shared a picture of herself holding up David’s book and smiling at the camera on the book club’s Instagram page.
“I’m delighted for us to dive into an epic novel from the tremendously talented bestselling author,” Oprah captioned the post.
“David takes us on an extraordinary journey that brilliantly interweaves history, philosophy, adventure, and mysticism to explore the meaning of love, friendship, and living your life’s true purpose,” she continued.
The Beloved actress was admitted to the hospital after she acknowledged taking weight-loss medications like Ozempic.
“I was actually recommending it to people long before I was on it myself,” Oprah revealed in a chat with People magazine.
