Pantera to play Ireland in 2025

Pantera have announced a Dublin show in February 2025 – the first time the band will have played in Ireland since February 1993.

The quartet of Phil Anselmo, Zakk Wylde, Rex Brown, and Charlie Benante will play Dublin’s 3Arena on Friday 21 February 2025.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday 21 June at 10am.

Pantera last played Dublin at the SFX in February 1993.

A planned tour of Europe in September 2001 was scrapped after the 11 September terrorist attacks in the US. Pantera were stranded in Dublin – where the tour had been due to start – for a number of days as a result of flights being cancelled.

Pantera subsequently disbanded in November 2003.

The band’s iconic founding guitarist, Darrell ‘Dimebag Darrell’ Abbott, was shot dead by an audience member while performing with his post-Pantera band Damageplan at a concert in Columbus, Ohio, in December 2004. He was 38.

His brother, Pantera and Damageplan drummer Vincent Paul ‘Vinnie Paul’ Abbott, died in June 2018 at the age of 54 from dilated cardiomyopathy and coronary artery disease.

Pantera singer Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown joined forces with Black Label Society guitarist Zakk Wylde and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante to go back out on the road as Pantera in 2023.
