Payne Park celebrates the grand opening of pro shop and lounge

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Payne Park is celebrating the grand opening of their new pro shop, Court Thirteen, a social gathering place for all tennis enthusiasts.

The City-owned and operated facility is hosting an open house on Friday, June 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Payne Park Tennis Center to showcase the part pro shop, part cafe lounge.

According to tennis supervisor, Bjorn Turnquist, the City of Sarasota put over $1 million towards the project and it took over two months to complete.

Open house festivities include complimentary coffee, drink specials, prizes and games, music, and more. All 12 courts will be open for regular play during the open house.

The pro shop offers tennis racquets, balls, apparel, and bags for sale. Racquet restringing services are also available.

The lounge includes a cafe with pre-packaged food, snacks, water, and soft drinks. There is also a full bar with liquor, beer, and wine.

Fridays at Court Thirteen will host live music and other special events.
