Phil Mickelson’s pre-Nashville activity says everything about LIV Golf star
Phil Mickelson returns to action this week after his disappointment at the U.S. Open, teeing it up on the LIV Golf circuit in Nashville, as he hunts for his first breakaway league win
Phil Mickelson was seen letting his hair down ahead of this week’s LIV Golf event in Nashville, embracing the local culture with some dancing in the city of Tennessee.
Mickelson is back in action fresh off his disappointment at the U.S. Open last week, where he missed the cut at Pinehurst No. 2. Despite the underperformance, there seems to be no stresses for the HyFlyers captain this week, who embraced his age-old lovable figure in the world of pro golf by taking to the dance floor.
A video of the six-time major champion alongside his HyFlyers teammates Cameron Tringale and Andy Ogletree uploaded on social media showed off their moves by dancing to some traditional Nashville country music.

Re-sharing the clip to his 853,000 followers on X, Mickelson tweeted: “I’m kinda digging the Nashville vibe.” The former PGA Tour star has become somewhat of a divisive figure among fans in recent years, following his decision to sign with the Saudi-back circuit back in the summer of 2022.
It is however fair to say that his followers were more than pleased to see the HyFlyers captain enjoy himself ahead of this week’s tournament at The Grove. Replying to Mickelson’s post, one wrote: “Love this! Please don’t ever retire lol,” whilst another fan added: “This is incredible.”
The love for Mickelson did not stop there, as another golf fan responded: “As if you weren’t all ready my favorite golfer ever, now it just elevated to the next level! Enjoy life to the fullest Phil,” before a fourth went on to post: “Pumped to see you Sunday @PhilMickelson!!”

Heading into the week’s week’s, the majority of the discussion has centred around Mickelson’s fellow LIV star Bryson DeChambeau. The Crushers captain secured the second major championship of his career last Sunday in North Carolina, seeing off Rory McIlroy in an epic final round at the U.S. Open
In the aftermath, DeChambeau has ensured he has gone about his celebrations with his fans, having built up quite the following around Pinehurst No. 2 last week. In the immediate aftermath, the 30-year-old was seen parading the trophy through the crowds around the 18th green, before repeating this on The Tonight Show a day later.
Unsurprisingly DeChambeau has arrived on site at The Grove with his U.S. Open silverware this week, and like Mickelson, was seen embracing the Nashville culture as he walked through the city with the iconic trophy in hand on Wednesday. DeChambeau will kick off his tournament on Friday form hole one, with Mickelson three holes ahead at the fourth as part of the shotgun start.
