A LOCALLY famous food truck is up for sale in Cork, inclusive of a mobile prep kitchen, a unique exterior, and its chefs’ authentic recipes.
Toto’s Pizza, run by French Baker Christian Jambou, is currently up for grabs after 12 years of trading across Kinsale, Belgooly, and Garrettstown Beach.
With an expectant selling price of €54,000, Mr Jambou will be passing his legacy on to a new generation of pizza lovers through the sale of his rare converted Argosy trailer, which was built by Airstream in 1972.
Also included in the deal is a loyal client base, two industrial mixers, a walk-in fridge, a generator, all of Jambou’s original recipes, as well as the Toto’s Pizza social media accounts and website.
The decision to sell has come after a long journey with health complications that have affected Mr Jambou’s legs, making a full-shift in the trailer difficult to endure.
Speaking Mr Jambou detailed his fond memories with the yellow submarine inspired trailer, having originally sourced it all the way from a dealer in Jacksonville, Ohio.
“Then I remembered Airstreams, and I thought that could be something, but of course there was none in Ireland.”
Mr Jambou eventually found his perfect match, and began the process of refurbishing the vessel to look exactly as imagined, even sourcing dismantled ship port holes from Bangladesh to serve as windows for the trailer. After six months on Irish soil, the truck was fully transformed into the functional kitchen on wheels that it is today, and was ready for its debut on Garrettstown Beach.
Since then, Toto’s has become a landmark sight across Kinsale and its surrounding areas.
Reminiscing on his time with the trailer, Mr Jambou said that it was “time to slow down” for him and his wife, Liz.
“It would be a great business for a couple, [but] it has to be a professional,” he added. “Someone who knows how to cook or bake.”
