POCSO case against cricket coach: SHRC serves notice to KCA
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Cricket Association has come under fire after police booked a coach Manu for sexually assaulting minor girls during a training session. He is currently in judicial custody. The Kerala State Human Rights Commission registered a suo motu case over the sexual assault incident and served a notice to the KCA seeking an explanation.
Manu, the accused has been serving as a cricket coach at KCA headquarters for the past 10 years. As per the complaint, Manu took minor girls to Thenkasi and sexually assaulted them. It is also alleged that he captured nude visuals of the victims. More complaints were registered against the cricket coach after police slapped POCSO charges against him. The Human Rights Commission registered a suo motu case based on the news reports.
Meanwhile, the father of a victim told Manorama News that the accused sexually assaulted students at the KCA headquarters too. He added that no official from KCA contacted him after he raised a complaint against the cricket coach. It is also revealed that Manu had molested a girl who went to the washroom after training at the gym.
Father of a victim also opened up that Manu had engaged in lewd talks with his daughter. Though Manu was removed from the coach position following the complaint, the victims’ families alleged that no official from KCA contacted them to enquire about their complaints.
