Police haul off caravans as travellers set up at Nantwich Cricket Club

Police seized two caravans after travellers set up at a cricket club. Officers had been called to an ‘unauthorised encampment’ at Nantwich Cricket Club.

And Cheshire Police say two caravans were later seized. Cops were called to the Whitehouse Lane venue at 5.30pm on July 10. A spokeswoman said: “Police were made aware of an unauthorised encampment at Nantwich Cricket Club.

“Officers attended and found there were five caravans present at the site.”

A ‘notice to leave’ was issued at 10.30am on July 12. The spokeswoman added: “While monitoring the site, police seized two caravans which were suspected to have been stolen.”
