Imelda took to Instagram yesterday to tell fans about her huge career jump.

In a delighted caption, the 49-year-old wrote: “Excited to tell you at last!!!! I’m in a movie ‘The People Before’, a thrilling thriller.”

The first screenings of the gripping new film are set to be shown at the “prestigious” Oscar qualifying festival, the Galway Film Fleadh on July 10.

The Johnny Got A Boom singer highlighted that the film will be screened on the same day as her 50th birthday, making for an extra special milestone.

Imelda gushed about her time spent creating the movie as she added: “I had the best time making this with an amazing cast.”

The new film will be based off of the eerie psychological novel by author Charlotte Northedge.

The movie will revolve around a married couple who are itching for a new start.

The couple are offered the chance to buy a rumbling old cottage in Suffolk and jump at it.
