Prince William gives new role to Beatrice amid ‘unconvincing’ Anne’s health update

Princess Beatrice stepped in for Prince William at a key event as the Prince of Wales supported King Charles in the absence of Princess Kate and Princess Anne.

On Tuesday, Prince William participated in events during the Japanese State Visit, including a carriage ride down The Mall and a State Banquet at Buckingham Palace in the evening.

The Emperor and Empress of Japan are visiting the UK at the invitation of King Charles and Queen Camilla. Due to these commitments, Prince William, 42, was unable to attend the Earthshot Prize Water Roundtable, which took place on the same day.

William, who founded the Earthshot Prize in 2020, hosts an annual awards show to honor those addressing climate change.

In his stead, Princess Beatrice attended the Earthshot Prize Water Roundtable on Tuesday, bringing together investors and philanthropists to explore water as an emerging investment theme.

One fan posted on social media: “Well done Beatrice, you’re really stepping up and supporting the family.”

Another wrote: “Wonderful to hear! I hope we see more of Princess Beatrice.”

For the unversed, Princess Anne’s husband has given fresh health update on his wife which is not very reassuring or confidence-inspiring.

Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence merged from the main Brunel building at Southmead Hospital just before 2 pm, having spent two-and-a-half hours with Princess Anne.

When asked whether Anne would be leaving the hospital, he provided an update on her condition.

Asked whether Anne would be leaving hospital on Wednesday, he said: “She’ll be out when she’s ready”.
