Prince William spotted in major event without Kate Middleton after heavy criticism

Prince William missed out on attending the third day of Royal Ascot to fly to Germany

Prince William was seen singing along to the national anthem, “God Save The King,” while attending the England Euros game in Germany this evening.

The prince opted to skip the third day of Royal Ascot and flew to Germany to watch the Three Lions take on Denmark in the Euros.

In a traditional fashion, the England team sang the national anthem before the game, with the camera subsequently showing the Prince of Wales clapping enthusiastically.

William attended the match without his wife or children, just a day before his 42nd birthday.

Princess Kate has been recuperating privately since her cancer diagnosis was revealed. While she did make an appearance at Trooping The Colour over the weekend, the Palace has clarified that this should not be seen as a return to her royal duties.

As president of the Football Association, William faced criticism last year for not attending the Women’s World Cup final in Australia, where the Lionesses lost to Spain.

It was the first time the Lionesses had reached the final of a World Cup, and the first time an England football team had competed in a World Cup final since the men’s side beat West Germany in 1966.

William reportedly had concerns about the length of the journey, as the game was being played in Sydney, Australia. At the time, he was compelled to issue an apology to the Lionesses following public outrage.

Speaking alongside Princess Charlotte in adorable footage, the Prince of Wales said: “We’re sorry we couldn’t be there in person. We’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved and the millions you’ve inspired here and around the world.”
