Quality all the way at East Cork’s €795k Ashbrook
IT’S 25 years already since committed east Cork developer Seamus Geaney did his niche scheme of big, family-friendly homes on big sites called Ashbrook.
And, while they are some of the very best homes in and around the Carrigtwohill area, they sort of hide their light under a bushel.
The exceptionally well-presented home and very private grounds spans over 2,600 sq ft, with tightly insulated attic (560 sq ft with great storage/conversion capacity) with pumped foam helping get a B3 BER, and on the eco front there’s also an EV charge point.
Finishes include a variety of timbers, hardwood flooring (the entry hall holds a baby grand piano), some decorative mosaic work, carpeted bedrooms, Silestone and maple tops on ash kitchen units (ash also in the utility), several stoves, including an antique one in one of three reception rooms, and a good range of kitchen appliances, including a big Rangemaster oven.
These Ashbrook homes are discrete and quite high end, and resales are few and far between, with Leugh Lodge showing in 2011 at €539,000.
