Queen Camilla looks radiant in cream dress in surprise Wimbledon appearance

QUEEN Camilla has surprised crowds at Wimbledon with an unexpected appearance at the tennis tournament.

The Queen shook hands with ball boys and girls and met the daughter of Mexican tennis player Santiago Gonzalez.

Camilla wore a cream dress adorned with giraffes around the skirt for her visit with silver shoes and a silver handbag.

The dress, by Anna Valentine, was paired with a Jack Russell brooch from Van Cleef and Arpels.

The Queen met a ball girl and boy at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, along with tennis coach Jamie Delgado and former junior Wimbledon champion and Olympic silver medallist Laura Robson.

Camilla was introduced to the welcome line-up by Deborah Jevans, chairwoman of the All England Club.

She then went to watch the action from the Royal Box on Centre Court where Kazakh Elena Rybakina and Ukrainian Elina Svitolina are competing in the quarter-final match.

Peter Phillips, Princess Anne’s son, also attended Wimbledon today with his new girlfriend Harriet Sperling.

The paediatric nurse wore a blue and white flowery dress by Me&em from Wilko as the strolled hand in hand with the royal.

She also wore Russell & Bromley shoes and a cardigan from Zara.

The rain has held off from the championships today. Last night, the Queen joked that “everybody teases her” about her “obsession” with weather apps, an author said.

The reception on Tuesday brought together bestselling authors and volunteers for the National Literacy Trust – which works to give children and adults of all ages literacy skills – to celebrate the charity’s 30th anniversary.

Simon said: “We were laughing about our mutual love of weather apps.

“She mentioned it was raining in France, where I’m meant to be today, and I said ‘yeah, I know’.

“She said everybody teases her, because I’m also looking at weather in various parts of the world, and she’s the same – so we were laughing at our mutual obsession.”
