Raiders roster 2024: Get to know Jalen McKenzie

The Las Vegas Raiders signed former USC offensive lineman Jalen McKenzie this offseason.

Let’s take a closer look at McKenzie:

Size:

6-5, 315 pounds.

When signed:

He was signed to a future contract in January. He just turned 25. He was a three-year starter at USC and is has been trying to stick around in the NFL since 2022.

Family ties:

His father, Reggie McKenzie, was the Raiders’ general manager from 2012-18. Thus, Jalen McKenzie grew up around the Raiders. He is also trying to be a Raiders’ player like his father was. Reggie McKenzie, now a senior executive with the Miami Dolphins, was a Raiders’ linebacker from 1985-88.

How he will fit in with Raiders:

McKenzie is facing a steep battle at position where they will be a lot of competition in training camp. His best chance may be to develop on the practice squad and then try to get promoted to the 53-man roster from there.
