Real Madrid Legend And Manchester United Star Casemiro ‘Joins Marbella FC’
Real Madrid legend Casemiro has become a new shareholder, in a move reported by the club in question as him ‘joining’ Marbella FC.
“Marbella Football Club is pleased to announce that Carlos Henrique Casemiro, star of Manchester United, of the Brazilian national team and five-time winner of the Champions League, becomes a new shareholder of our entity from today,” a statement from the Andalusian club read.
“The enthusiasm and commitment that Casemiro shows with the Marbella FC project is evident with his incorporation into the club’s shareholding structure. Not only Marbella, but also the whole city, are proud that an athlete of his global dimension wants to belong to our family.
“The confirmation of Casemiro as a new member of the board of directors is a historic opportunity for the club to continue projecting its institutional and sporting strategy in elite football,” it added.
Casemiro said that “it is an honour for me to join Marbella Football Club because my greatest motivation is the spectacular possibilities for the growth of the club”.
He further explained that he has visited Marbella with his family on “several occasions”, which led them to falling in love with the city and wanting to be linked with it “for life”.
“Without a doubt, together we will dream big to take Marbella to the top, but now we have to enjoy our wonderful promotion to the First Division,” he stressed.
Marbella said that the move strengthens the club’s “roadmap”, with links to a “strategic” and experienced partner such as Casemiro helping “the general growth of our institution”.
“The passion, leadership and sense of responsibility that have always guided Casemiro in his professional career are more than justified reasons why we open the doors of our home to him today,” Marbella concluded.
While Casemiro’s future in Marbella appears to be exciting, it is less clear in Manchester and Brazil.
He hasn’t been included in the national team squad that will contest the Copa America in the United States this summer, and The Athletic reported that the 32-year-old is “likely to leave” Manchester United amid links to Cristiano Ronaldo’s current employers Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
