Revealed: Ireland’s hospitals worst hit by operation and appointment cancellations due to overcrowding

Severely ill patients left to suffer as bed shortage increases pressure on system

More than 50,000 patients had their operations, procedures and appointments cancelled in the first three months of the year as hospitals battled overcrowding.

These cancellations would include people who needed surgery for cancer and other illnesses.
