Ribbon Runway fashion show returns to raise funds for North Louth Hospice

As well as raising much-needed funds for the charity that supports those affected by cancer in Dundalk and surrounding areas, it’s an enjoyable and empowering evening of fashion and sisterhood.

Once again, the evening will be hosted by Caroline McElroy, stylist and presenter, with the latest spring/summer fashions from local boutiques Sheba, Ozone and Ruby Nu, as well as swimwear from Breast Care by Alison.

What makes this a fashion show with a difference is that many of the models taking part are breast cancer survivors.

“I’m so proud of my ladies who are going to strut their stuff on the night, proving that you can look and feel gorgeous at any stage of this journey,” say Alison. “The North Louth Hospice provides such vital services when people are at their most vulnerable and is so deserving of support.”

“Alison is the passionate force behind Breastcare by Alison. She has dedicated herself to assist and support all those affected by breast cancer. Her tireless efforts have made a significant impact in the lives of many individuals. The fashion show is a testament to her unwavering commitment to help people in need,” added Karen Finnegan, one of Alison’s clients.

Tickets are €25 and include a glass of bubbly, with 100% of the proceeds going to the North Louth Hospice.

These are available at all participating boutiques or online through Eventbrite. On the night there will be raffles; a prize for Best Dressed Lady and various spot prizes, including a hamper sponsored by Neven Maguire, who is a strong supporter of Breastcare by Alison and the work she does.

Alison, who has 21 years of experience as a professional mastectomy fitter, recently hit the headlines when she was among those campaigning against proposed changes to the allowances received by breast cancer patients.

She has her own showroom at her home in Blackrock, Dundalk, Co Louth and also offers mobile fittings in counties Louth, Cavan, Monaghan, Meath and Dublin. She stocks a wide range of underwear, swimwear, and post mastectomy prosthesis in all sizes to fit individual’s figures and style.
