Roger Federer Reveals New Kicks for ‘Future Legends’ in a Swanky Upgrade to the Original That Shook the Sneaker Market

Roger Federer is back with his ‘A’ game once again! Not on the court, but off the court with his latest edition of the ON-Running footwear. Teaming up with ON, this time the Swiss Maestro is here with a sequel to “THE ROGER Pro.” According to him, it has all the features that will keep the titles coming into the bag of players.

Roger Federer took to his Instagram account and unveiled THE ROGER Pro. 2 in his latest video. This footwear promises to take the performance and style of the players to the next level. How? Federer claims the technical changes in the shoe design.

“This is THE ROGER Pro.2. All about speed and agility, this shoe is a natural evolution of its original THE ROGER Pro. The molded heel counter locks your feet in place when the game heats up. Expected to withstand everything from toe drags to slides, if you insist on sliding of course,” the ex-Nike partner said in the video while holding the latest edition of the footwear in his hands.

Roger Federer further continued, “A carbon fiber Speedboard keeps you feeling stable. We haven’t forgotten about the upper either. It’s light. It’s breathable and abrasion-resistant. There is going to be a lot of players is winning a lot of titles with this shoe.” The caption of the video read, Say hello to THE ROGER Pro 2. 🎾Packed with major performance upgrades, these next-gen kicks deliver unrivalled agility, stability and durability. Co-created with our athletes. Made for the feet of future legends. (You).”

The sequel, which is yet to announce its launch date, comes two years after Federer launched the first edition of THE ROGER Pro. It instantly became a hit among the fans and is speculated to be among Switzerland’s best exports in terms of sneakers.

However, it all started back in 2019 when Federer joined hands with the multimillion-dollar company, On, as a 3% shareholder. After closely working with his partners, whom he likes to call his friends, Federer released the first sneaker a few months later, in July 2020. Originally named THE ROGER in 2020, Federer launched the company’s first tennis tournament shoe, THE ROGER Pro, in 2022.

Now, after almost two years, Federer is all set to create waves among sneakerheads. The latest white-colored shoe with indigo bars on the side and a tinge near the toes is made for hard courts and exhibits Federer’s signature style of trying to keep it norm-core. However, Federer has not forgotten about the clay courts when it comes to designing shoes. Last year, there was another version of THE ROGER that stole hearts.

The time when Roger Federer released a shoe to “Conquer the clay”

Last year, Roger Federer, an 11-time clay court title winner, gifted fans with THE ROGER Pro Clay footwear. He shared an Instagram video where the 42-year-old player was noticed practicing tennis on clay, wearing the shoe. The video had the caption, “Conquer the clay. Introducing THE ROGER Pro Clay: @rogerfederer’s iconic tennis shoe, optimized for clay courts.”

The shoe has a full-length herringbone outsole. Why so? This is done to give the players better agility on clay, with proper balance to navigate around the grooves. Moreover, it also has an amazing grip that will help the players slide better.

However, one of the most interesting things about the shoe is that Roger Federer himself helped in making the design of the footwear. Revealing this, the official website of On wrote, “When one of the world’s best clay court players helps to design a shoe, you know it’s going to be good.” As he continues to amaze fans with newer versions of THE ROGER Pro, his collaboration with ON Running will continue to redefine tennis footwear.
