RTE star brutally slams Nicola Coughlan for joining ‘empire of trash’ brand
AN RTE star has slammed Nicola Coughlan for joining an “empire of trash” brand and claimed she’s going to “lose fans”.
The Bridgerton star has become the latest A-lister to model for Kim Kardashian’s brand Skims.
And while some of her fans were excited by the collaboration, others thought it was a step in the wrong direction for Nicola.
Oliver Callan had a lot to say about the controversial move over on his RTE Radio 1 show on Tuesday morning.
The Derry Girls actress has raised €1.7 million for various Palestinian causes, which added to Oliver’s surprise as to why she would endorse the “Made In China” brand.
Speaking on air, Oliver said: “Beloved Irish star of Bridgerton and a woman who is attached to more causes than you can count from Gaza to anti racism, pro trans rights, feminism.

“She has stunned the world – our Nicola Coughlan – by signing up into bed with the Kardashians. What? But you’re a virtuous, nice, good person?
“I don’t know where her credentials as a warrior for feminism are now? Withered to dust probably.”
Oliver continued: “So she is now the latest face of the Kim Kardashian fast fashion brand Skims.
“The ‘Made in China’ line of loungewear. Also made in Turkey. Of course, a great record for women’s rights there as well.

“You might know, of course, the Kardashians from their empire of trash built on toxic beauty ideals for women.”
He added sarcastically: “Well done Nicola.”
The 43-year-old reckons that Nicola could cause upset by endorsing the controversial clothing as he claimed: “But she is going to lose fans, I would dare say, as a result of that.”
Oliver finished off his rant by saying: “You could argue Kim Kardashian does wonderful things for women, providing those women’s last name is a Kardashian.
“Let’s face it. There are so many other fashion brands to choose from, including Irish ones. Dear oh dear Nicola Coughlan. Am I judging? Yes I am.”
Skims shared a promo clip on Instagram of Nicola posing in the long yellow slip dress saying “Everybody’s wearing Skims” yesterday.
