The pair shocked listeners last week when they announced their departure from RTE 2FM’s flagship evening programme.

Despite their show growing listeners in the latest JNLR figures, the pair decided to exit the station so they wouldn’t “burn out“.

Before their final show this Friday, Johnny B took part in his final forfeit in Facts v Smacks and they wanted to go out with a bang to “make him suffer”.

Johnny Smacks explained: “Any of the previous forfeits you’ve done John, we got you waxed, you looked good. We got you an earring, you looked good. We got you a sticker for the back of your car that said, ‘put it in the mixer,’ and it looked good.”

In order to make the penalty as memorable as possible, they decided to send messages on Johnny B’s phone as viewers sent in suggestions.

When the extent of his forfeit was explained, Johnny B joked: “I’m burning all my bridges today.”

For the first text, they wanted to lean into an insinuated romance between the RTE star and Cork born singer LYRA.

After LYRA had appeared on the 2 Johnnies podcast, fans had speculated about a budding romance.

Smacks suggested they should text LYRA from his phone and ask her on a “date.”

After much back and forth they settled on: “Well girl, it’s been a hard week. You, me, Croagh Patrick and a flask of Barry’s this weekend or next.”

With the text sent, they deliberated on who would be their next target with his phone.

To lay out their options, he then revealed which other RTE stars he had on his phone: “I have phone numbers for, Marty Morrissey-“

Smacks then interrupted and said: “You have to text Morrissey, ‘You and me, holiday?'”

Johnny B pointed out: “But we would have to go on the holiday then.”

He then continued with the list of stars in his phone: “We also have Joe Brolly, Oliver Callan and Louis Walsh.”

DRUNK TEXTS

They contemplated texting Joe Brolly, however the 37-year-old admitted he had only texted him in the past drunkenly.

He explained: “Afric you can see my last two texts from him, the first say’s ‘F.F.S’, and the other, ‘Sweet, holy, Jesus, Mother’. So god knows what I been messaging him.”

A listener then suggested the next text to send on Johnny B’s behalf: “We did get some animal out there who is thinking along the right lines.

“The listener said, ‘Lads, text Louis Walsh. Well Louis, now that we have left 2FM we are thinking of trying out for Big Brother, or any career advice is welcome’.”

SINGER’S REPLY

Johnny B then suggested: “I’ll end it with, ‘Let’s go for cocktails’ or something like that.”

Smacks and Afric then joked: “You are loving this, we are supposed to be torturing you!”

Later on in the show, they received their first reply from Lyra: “Do you leave the tea bag in or out?”

They then noted that Lyra: “Didn’t say yes but she also didn’t say no.”

Lyra then followed up her text with: “I am in the studio and I have been told what you are doing, I mean, I should have just replied with ‘Yeah, cool’. And send the Irish media into a frenzy.”

The pair never got a reply from Louis Walsh.
