RTE’s Arthur Gourounlian reveals first moment they realised new baby was on way
ARTHUR Gourounlian has shared the moment he and husband Brian Dowling realised their new baby was on the way – and emotionally thanked his “incredible” sister-in-law Aoife.
The RTE Dancing With The Stars judge, who already shares daughter Blake with Brian, earlier this week broke the news that their second daughter had arrived.
RTE star Arthur thanked fans for their “beautiful” messages after baby Blu’s arrival last Sunday.
The 44-year-old explained: “We are still, like Brian calls it, in the Blu bubble.
“One minute on Sunday we’re having this big breakfast – and then next we’re in hospital having the baby.
“It was the best feeling, but do you know what, we had to keep ourselves together and then Blu was born at 1.33pm.
“It went so fast and then that night we’re in a hospital, staring at Blu and me and Brian were like ‘oh my god, she’s here’.”
Arthur also spoke about their shock as Blu was not due for another week and a half.
Gushing over their new bundle of joy, he added: “We are so blessed, she’s just divine, I can’t stop staring at her.”
And he revealed that when Blu was born, she was “the image” of her sister Blake, but she is already beginning to change.

Brian’s sister Aoife once again stepped in to act as a surrogate for the broadcaster and Arthur for the second time.
Extending his thanks to Aoife, Arthur described her as “incredible”.
He said: “Effidy Dowling, you are an absolutely incredible human, one in a million.
“The way you handled all of that on Sunday 23rd of June, I mean I’m in awe of you, you never cease to amaze me so thank you, thank you, thank you so much.”
And proud dad Arthur was left “exhausted” yesterday after spending a wholesome day out with his daughter Blake.
Husband Brian introduced their new baby girl to the world earlier this week with a heart-melting post on Instagram.
He said: “Please be upstanding for the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blu Amar Rose Dowling.
“Blu was delivered safely on Sunday, June 23rd at 13:30hours weighing 6lbs, 2ozs.
“Myself and Papa are absolutely besotted and actually can’t believe we now have two little beauties to keep us on our toes.”
Brian’s sister Aoife once again acted as surrogate for the pair.
Speaking before the birth, the couple said: “We have already been so blessed with Blake we can’t believe how lucky we are as parents to welcome another baby to our family.
“Blake is going to be the best big sister ever.”
SISTER GRATITUDE
Brian said sister Aoife was once again a “superstar”.
He said: “We are, as always, FOREVER GRATEFUL.
“You stayed so calm, considering it wasn’t exactly the birth plan we had initially hoped for.
