Ruth Langsford ‘devastated’ as reason behind Eamonn Holmes split revealed

The shocking discovery resulted in the couple separating after 14 years of marriage.

The Loose Women star is said to have been “devastated” about her husband’s betrayal and the shocking discovery resulted in the couple separating after 14 years of marriage, according to The Sun.

“Ruth was completely taken by surprise when she saw the messages,” a source told the publication.

“She had no idea what had been going on between them. She was devastated.

“Not only was she very upset but she was also angry.”

The pair, who formerly presented This Morning together, confirmed their divorce last month.

They share one son named Jack (22) and Eamonn also has three other children from previous relationships.

Belfast native Eamonn has moved out of their home in Surrey and has recently been spotted out and about with a female companion – although it’s not known if the woman in question was involved in the messaging scandal.

He has reportedly taken the mystery lady to Center Parcs, a Beyoncé concert, and to see Manchester United play at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Ruth is taking an extended break from Loose Women as she copes with their marriage breakdown.

It comes after Eamonn thanked fans for their support in his first public appearance since announcing his split from Ruth.

Speaking on his GB News programme with Isabel Webster last month, Holmes said there was another matter he’d like to address before discussing politics on the show.

“I’d just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Your support is very much appreciated,” he said.

News of the couple’s split broke a few days earlier after a relationship spanning more than a decade, during which they co-hosted This Morning on many occasions.

They confirmed they will divorce through their representative.

A statement read: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

The celebrity couple first began presenting ITV daytime programme This Morning together in 2006, before leaving the programme in 2021 and being replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond.

He also presented Channel 5 programmes with Langsford including How The Other Half Lives, Do The Right Thing With Eamonn And Ruth and Eamonn And Ruth’s 7 Year Itch.
