Ryan Tubridy christens Galway place ‘world’s most beautiful’
Radio and TV presenter Ryan Tubridy has shared a snap from one his favourite places in the world and understandably, it’s in Galway.
The broadcaster returned to Ireland this weekend, making the most of a UK Bank Holiday to get some extra time on the Emerald Isle. The Virgin Radio presenter moved to London back in January, following his departure from RTÉ last year.
The former Late Late Show presenter is known for his fondness for the west coast of Ireland, and shared that he is vacationing to Connemara to enjoy some downtime. Ryan documented his trip to Connemara where he visited Abbeyglen Castle, which is owned by his cousin Brian Hughes.

The Abbeyglen Castle Hotel in Clifden is known for its gorgeous setting, and proximity to Inishbofin island. Ryan called the area the “most beautiful place” in the world. In another snap, he shared a picture of a horse, saying: “Connemara ponies make the best neigh-bours.
Speaking previously, Tubridy told our sister site RSVP Magazine: “I used to visit the other side of Connemara, a place called Baile na hAbhann near Inverin. We used to go fishing on the boat for trout and I played in the fields with my brother.
“It was like Huckleberry Finn and it warms my heart still because it was so idyllic and lovely.”
“The Abbeyglen in Galway is run by cousins of mine. It is a hotel that has soul, it has a sense of fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously. I love a night of piano, pints and messing. And there is a parrot at reception, what is not to love?”
Ryan said: “There are very few things that beat the Irish stew in Mitchell’s in Clifden. Lamb stew with loads of potatoes… I think about it a lot.”
In what is undoubtedly a smart move, Ryan refused to share his hidden gem in Ireland, saying: “I don’t really want to unveil that because it is mine!,” he joked.
