Ryan Tubridy’s next career step confirmed as star spotted on cosy Galway getaway
Ex RTE star Ryan Tubridy has announced his next career move post-Late Late Show as he confirms he will host a second series of his hit podcast.
Part time Galway resident Tubridy took a momentary break from his holiday in Connemara to tell fans that the second season of The Bookshelf With Ryan Tubridy is currently in the works.
He shared the news in a post on Instagram as he announced the finale of the current season landed on Tuesday morning.

In the post he said: “Season finale for The Bookshelf podcast landed this morning. Thank you for listening. Season II is on the way. We already got some guests in the bag and plenty more to come so it is going to be getting bigger and better so thank you for that.
“I hope you’re having a lovely summer. I’ve loads of books to recommend to you and loads of places that I think you might like to visit so enjoy the rest of it and I’ll catch you soon.”
Comments came thick and fast from his legion of fans as one commented: “Well done! Delighted it’s going well for you. You deserve it.”
Another said: “Unbelievable first season! Massive congrats. Also mildly offended at the lack of rain in Connemara compared to Dublin but we move.”
Meanwhile a third wrote: “Well done @instatubridy it is just a fabulous show and has me buying a lot more books from @eason_ireland.”
Ryan is currently on annual leave from his Virgin Radio UK show.
Angela Scanlon is currently in the hot seat while he is on holiday. Angela replaced Graham Norton back in April and now presents a brand new breakfast show on Saturday and Sunday from 7am until 10am.
The Meath star took to her Instagram on Monday to share the news with fans and listeners. She said: “Good morning, I am on the radio here and there all week, in for my friend Ryan Tubridy.”
Ryan’s “little break” from the show began last week as he wanted to give his listeners a “break from him and him from them”.
