Bluestocking

The only race that looks worth betting on is the Pretty Polly Stakes, the Group 1 fillies and mares contest, ran over 1m2f.

This year, there’s a few top contenders including Bluestocking, Emily Upjohn and Stay Alert.

Emily Upjohn only came fourth last time out on her reappearance behind Luxembourg in the Coronation Cup.

She has a tendency to not run quite to her best ability at times and is a tough filly but also picks up a few injuries here and there, which means missing a fair amount of work.

Not enough to effect her ability but potentially enough to put her behind in these Group 1’s, which also saw her come 27 lengths away from Hukum and 25 lengths behind Pyledriver in 2022.

She’s always got potential and she’s seemingly the best mare in this field.

However, Bluestocking has improved greatly, winning by six lengths to Free Wind on her first run this season.

She’s mostly been seen over 1m4f as a three-year-old but now at four, she looks primed and ready to not only improve but make the most over this step down in trip.

Kinross

A few of these top-rated horses have rarely been seen on the all-weather before, and if they have it’s been a while.

Kinross for instance, is the Group 1 winner who hasn’t been seen on the all-weather since 2020, where he won by 3/4 of a length at Kempton in a listed race.

This will also be his first run since he was second by a neck to Art Power at Ascot’s Champions Sprint Stakes under Frankie Dettori back in October.

He can go well off a break but is also the top-rated horse by a nice margin.

It’s difficult to see anyone else past Kinross who is a great price as well, with all-weather form.

King Of Conquest

Charlie Appleby and William Buick are due a win with a Godolphin horse in Britain after a fairly quiet Royal Ascot with not that many runners, and no winners.

However, they’re not out of form by any means and they have an incredible strike rate at this course.

King Of Conquest was beaten just by a nose to Middle Earth in May before going on strongly to beat the reopposing Aimeric in June at Goodwood.

That’s great form going into this and realistically should win at this great price.

Aurora’s Beauty

Buick and Appleby are in with a shot at getting a couple of favourite winners on the board here.

And that’s the case in this 4pm contest with the filly Aurora’s Beauty who sets the form standard amongst this relatively small field.

She was just three lengths behind Bolsena here in a maiden fillies contest over course and distance in April.

Before being a disappointing 11 lengths behind Cat Ninja at Windsor in May.

However, that run has also been boosted considerably with both first and second placed horses going on to confirm their abilities next time out.

This Bated Breath filly has a big potential of progressing further with this run and could still be well-weighted in comparison to these rivals.
