Swindon

Swindon could be well-weighted to strike here at a lovely 7/1 each-way price.

The three-year-old colt by Wootton Bassett was carrying top-weight on his last two races won by horses that are now far and away rated higher.

The William Haggas-trained horse now has a chance to get back to winning ways having beaten Savvy Exchange on debut, which contributed to his penalty this season.

Live In The Dream & Purosangue

Live In The Dream is the favourite for the Coral Charge and that’s largely due to the gelding’s consistency and top ratings coming into this.

He’s also had just two races at Sandown, both in 2022 over course and distance, with a record of a first and second place here in to two starts, including a near four length victory in April.

Purosangue has only been seen in Group 1 and 2 races in his last two appearances, and clearly has potential going forward as the only three-year-old.

The colt has nine races under rules already at this age, with two wins and three second places, while also dropping down in the weights.

But he’s been respectably placed behind top-class horses like Inisherin and Jasour so warrants each-way backing.

As a three-year-old in this race too, he gets a 5lb allowance which should go a long way.

Regal Jubilee

Trainers John & Thady Gosden have been in great form recently and should continue that with this Cheveley Park Stud-owned star Regal Jubilee.

She wasn’t quite up there in the 1000 Guineas Stakes but that Group 1 experience will be ideal coming into this, with plenty of potential still to be unlocked.

She then placed just behind Francophone on her first step up in trip to 1m2f last time out at Goodwood, despite carrying top-weight.

The Frankel filly is being dropped down to 1m again and should at least place for some each-way profit, though it would not be a surprise to see her win.

The light rain scattering throughout the weekend may aid her too, with the favourite Soprano likely to favour good to firm here, which only boosts Regal Jubilee’s value.

Ghostwriter & Exacta

The Clive Cox-trained colt Ghostwriter, by Invincible Spirit has huge potential here, having shown pace to keep on terms with the front few in the 2000 Guineas in May.

Then upped to 1m2f for the first time was a decent fourth again on testing ground at Chantilly’s Qatar Prix du Jockey Club.

He has only ever gone well on good and good to firm and after that prominent display in a Group 1, still unexposed over this trip, might surprise a few with a better finish.

The horse, likely to be ridden by either William Buick or Richard Kingscote, has the winning mentality shown even as a two-year-old going unbeaten, including in the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes.

He’s one of the few other three-year-olds yet to really show what he’s capable of and has the potential to make the most of this run.

Especially now the likes of Luxembourg and White Birch have been ruled out.

Queen Of The Pride

This filly beat Lady Boba, who reappears on Saturday afternoon, by a short head here last month.

That was after a huge run behind Gather Ye Rosebuds which suggests there’s more to come.

It also speaks volumes that Oisin Murphy is heading to Haydock for this ride, while there’s also contenders from this trainer at Sandown.

She’s got a record of 21 over 1m4f and this Roaring Lion filly has been great since returning as a four-year-old.
